The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Macau Marketing Institute (MMI) have renewed their partnership to stimulate the advancement of the marketing sector, for the benefit of marketing professionals, businesses and society in Macau and the UK.

As part of the partnership agreement, which was renewed in February for two years, CIM and MMI will support events that are in the interests of both organisations, whilst also cascading research and content to drive greater awareness and reach through Macau and the UK, for the benefit of the marketing sector in the two regions.

The MMI also will recognise CIM’s Global Professional Marketing Framework (GPMF), featuring it as a basis for the development of skills, capability and behaviour of marketers across the profession, whilst also working with CIM to contribute to any future reviews of the framework.

CIM and MMI’s alliance will support the marketing profession in Macau and the UK by:

  • Aligning CIM and MMI’s professional marketing qualifications
  • Simplifying entry /and exemption from professional marketing qualifications
  • Recognising parity between CIM and MMI membership grades where applicable
  • Providing access to a wide range of career opportunities, research and networking

Commenting on the partnership, Chris Daly, Chief Executive of CIM said: “We are pleased to announce this renewed alliance with the Macau Marketing Institute, which will be key to advancing the marketing profession in Macau. The chance to make a difference in a specific region is an exciting opportunity for CIM, and we hope to see positive results from our targeted approach. In line with our 2030 strategy, growing our global footprint is a key priority for CIM while continuing to be fully committed to supporting marketers both in the UK and abroad. We believe that this partnership will truly benefit marketers in this region through the sharing of skills, knowledge, and contacts.”

Danny Chau, chairman of MMI, added: “The Macau Marketing Institute is delighted to secure a renewed partnership with CIM, which will enhance the careers of professional marketers in both regions, something that can only benefit businesses and society in Macau and the UK. Not only will this partnership stimulate the upskilling of current professionals, but it will also aid the development of those who are set to enter the sector, which will help to advance the marketing profession in both the short and the long term. We look forward to seeing the partnership and marketing careers blossom in the next two years, with MMI committed to using CIM’s Global Professional Marketing Framework as a tool to promote the very highest standards in Macau.”
