Develop Training puts the Mayor of Swindon in a tight spot!
On March 29 2007, the Mayor of Swindon, Councillor Mike Bawden cut the ribbon on Develop Training’s brand new, purpose built Confined Space training facility. The Confined Spaces unit offers the closest thing to on-the-job training in the South West UK.
Develop Training's new Confined Space facility, located at its training centre on Frankland Road in Swindon, is designed to provide top-of-the-line Health & Safety training in the South West area. ’It provides the closest thing to on-the-job-training,’ said Develop Training's Health and Safety Unit Manager Andy Richford.
The Mayor is delighted that Develop Training has chosen Swindon as the venue for this superb facility. ‘It's another positive endorsement for the town in attracting business investment and will no doubt lead to many, many more people visiting us here in Swindon,’ Councillor Bawden said.
Members of the construction industry, representatives from water utilities and the Ministry of Defence communities were there for the Confined Spaces open day and demonstrations included evacuation drills, a simulated gas emergency and various rescue scenarios.
