E-consultancy.com announces the launch of its Digital Marketing Graduate Academy
E-consultancy today announces the launch of their Digital Marketing Graduate Academy in an attempt to address the skills gap crippling the digital industry.
In a recent industry survey, 97% of respondents reported that they found it difficult or impossible to attract the right digital staff, with 57% saying the digital skills shortage impeded the growth of their business in 2007*. The Academy aims to address the issue by encouraging recent graduates to consider a career in digital marketing and giving them the practical skills and support necessary to succeed.
This Summer, 36 carefully selected graduates will be put through an intensive training programme, including five days of residential workshops, fifteen days of distance and online learning and access to all E-consultancy's content and resources.
They will then be introduced to businesses looking for digital marketing recruits. Those who are employed will continue to receive support and training during the first 12 months of their careers from E-consultancy.
Craig Hanna, E-consultancy's Training Director, believes the organisation has a responsibility to encourage new talent into the industry. "The digital industry is one of the UK's biggest growth sectors. Digital marketing and e-commerce is becoming an increasingly important part of most businesses but resourcing this has become a big problem for many companies."
"Today's Graduates are 'digital natives', spending a huge proportion of their time using the internet and digital media for academic research, entertainment and communicating with their friends. We are looking for graduates who can turn their passion for digital media into a commercial skill."
He continues, "This Academy is a practical step to ensure that the UK digital industry continues to grow and that the best, brightest graduates are attracted to the industry and helped to succeed and develop a rewarding and successful digital marketing career."
The Academy will be led by Matthew Yeomans, director at Custom Communication. With 15 years industry experience and teaching experience at the universities of New York and Cardiff, he is the ideal choice to lead this innovative, forward-looking course.
"Digital marketing is one of the most exciting and fastest growing areas of the communication business." He explains. "Everyone involved in the development of the Academy is delighted to be able to pass on some of the insights we've gleaned from working in the digital revolution to a select group of graduates who can then hit the ground running in their new careers."
Businesses and Graduates interested in finding out more about the Academy can visit the Digital Marketing Graduate Academy information pages and can apply now by emailing graduate@e-consultancy.com.
