Internet research and training specialist Econsultancy has today announced that it has secured endorsement from two of the digital industry’s most prominent trade bodies for its MSc in Digital Marketing Communications.

Internet research and training specialist Econsultancy has today announced that it has secured endorsement from two of the digital industry's most prominent trade bodies for its MSc in Digital Marketing Communications

Both the British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) and the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) have given their support to the course, recognising it as the UK's leading digital marketing qualification. They will also play an active role in informing the content of the practical skills sessions and promoting the MSc to their members.

Be Kaler Blake, a member of BIMA's Executive Commitee, commented, "If the digital skills gap is to be effectively addressed, the industry needs to take a proactive approach to training provision. Endorsing the MSc gives us the opportunity to drive the training agenda on behalf of our members and encourage adoption of this valuable academic standard."

Jack Wallington, Senior Programmes Manager at the IAB added, "The industry has developed to a stage where an established learning route is essential to attract, retain and develop new talent. As part of the IAB's overall efforts to make a real impact in this area, we're very happy to endorse this MSc which will help reduce the current digital skills shortage."

Launched in 2007 and accredited by Manchester Metropolitan University, the MSc in Digital Marketing Communications has seen delegate numbers more than double in the last twelve months. News of the endorsements comes as Econsultancy gears up for its newly launched January intake, announced last month in response to the growing demand.

Econsultancy's Training Director, Craig Hanna, commented, "2010 looks set to be an exciting year for our MSc in Digital Marketing Communications. Growing interest in the course has proved how much the industry values the introduction of a formal accreditation and the endorsements from the IAB and BIMA will be instrumental in establishing the programme as the industry standard."
