LEO appoints learning technology expert Bill Mastin as Senior Vice President, North America
LEO, the leading learning technologies agency, today announces the appointment of Bill Mastin, formerly from Saba, as its new Senior Vice President, North America.
Mastin joins LEO with over 20 years of experience in the learning technologies space. He has spent the last 11 years at Saba, a provider of talent management systems, where he had a proven track record of business development and sales. He has partnered with multiple blue-chip organisations such as Intel, Federal Reserve Bank and Kimberly-Clark, to help them realise an effective learning strategy, as well as advised learning programmes on behalf of the US Navy and US Army. His insight across the industry, coupled with his strategic focus, make him the ideal candidate to lead LEO’s ambitious growth plans in the US.
LEO launched its North American operations in New York in 2012 and has seen significant growth in the past several years, including the delivery of key projects for the National Emergency Management Association (NEMA) and SAP. North America is a key area of expansion for LEO as part of the Learning Technologies Group plc (LTG) wider group strategy. As part of that growth, in January 2016 LTG acquired e-learning standard experts Rustici Software and a 30 percent stake in Watershed to develop the next generation learning analytics platform.
As part of LTG, LEO has been able to draw upon the specialist capabilities within the Group to craft and deliver effective learning solutions to the North American market which deliver real business impact. A deep understanding of learning and business strategy, combined with a history of helping industry-leading organisations like Jaguar Land Rover, British Airways, PwC and the NHS (the world’s fifth-largest employer), to deliver proven results are the key differentiators that set LEO apart from competitors. With the appointment of Mastin, LEO has the building blocks in place to capitalise on its growth ambitions across North America.
Mastin said, "I am delighted to join the team and continue the growth momentum of LEO in North America. LEO blends together the latest innovations and best practice in learning. Gamification, mobile, social learning, video and other creative platforms are all part of the LEO DNA and are game changers for organisations that want to change behaviours and drive results."
Jonathan Satchell, Chief Executive of LTG added, “In the highly fragmented US market, LEO genuinely has the depth and breadth of service offering, backed by 30 years of experience in the UK and Europe, to help organisations move learning to the heart of business strategy.”
“I’m delighted to welcome Bill as Senior Vice President of LEO Learning North America. With Bill’s vast experience of the digital learning industry, alongside the expertise and credibility of LEO and the wider LTG group, we share an ambitious vision for future growth.
