Paying for training that pays - myths and how to beat them
According to Sara Powell - Accreditation Manager for the Financial Services Skills Council, the financial services industry is living with myths about the link between training and business performance - and these myths are preventing firms getting a satisfactory return on their training investment.
On the 15th June 2005 The Training Foundation is hosting an Open Day at one of it's training centres in Coventry for leading organisations drawn from across the financial services sector.
The free event is entitled Knowledge Transfer - Making Training Pay and Sara Powell - Accreditation Manager for the Financial Services Skills Council will be the keynote speaker. Powell will look at five assumptions about training that get in the way of using it to create a better business. Additionally attendees will get the chance to find out more about the the FSSC Accreditation of Training Excellence which is a new accreditation award for financial services sector firms and learning providers that can demonstrate their investment in training produces a desired business outcome.
Sandra Lucas, Financial Services Sector Manager for The Training Foundation commented "I know that the FSSC has received many requests for further information about their new accreditation award schemes since we first publicised them last week. The Open Day event represents an ideal opportunity to find out more about both the FSSC and The Training Foundation. If you have responsibility for learning and development in the financial services sector then the 15th June could be your most productive day out of the office this year!"
The event runs from 10:30am till 3.30pm including lunch and attendance is free. Spaces are limited so it is essential to book. Please email a booking request to Sandra Lucas via the link below to request an agenda and reserve your place.
