The Financial Services Skills Council and The Training Foundation team up to launch Recognised Trainer Scheme
The new FSSC Recognised Trainer Scheme is designed to recognise the capabilities of individual trainers. This recognition will be personal and will attach to the individual, not the employer.
The new FSSC Recognised Trainer Scheme, which launches today, is the latest in a suite of 5 accreditation initiatives from the Financial Services Skills Council.
To qualify for recognition the applicant must demonstrate that they are a competent trainer. This means that:
• the individual concerned must be able to demonstrate that they have a minimum of two years experience as a trainer.
• the individual concerned must achieve a training qualification that is FSSC recognised and rated by a Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) recognised awarding body as offering Level 3 equivalence, or above, against the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
• Where applicants do not hold a training qualification that meets the criteria described above, they will be required to achieve the necessary standard in a delivery skill assessment carried out by an Assessor from The Training Foundation.
• Additional evidence must be provided to show that they meet a number of standards developed by the FSSC.
Recognition will give individuals the right to display a specially devised FSSC recognition award on their premises and in literature and other forms of publication.

In providing advice and assistance we have drawn on extensive experience of training skills development and assessment gained under the auspices of the Trainer Assessment Programme (TAP®), which has been adopted by more than 1,000 organisations and certificated the skills of 10,000 trainers since its launch in 1998."
