Virtual Colleges demonstrates how LMSs can establish a perpetual appraisal process at Learning Technologies 2013
Virtual College, one of the UK’s leading providers of online training will be taking to the floor at the Learning & Skills Exhibition 2013 next week to deliver a presentation entitled ‘Job roles, competencies and appraisals don't have to be just once a year’.
The short seminar will be given by Rod Knox, CEO and co founder of Virtual College, which was established in 1995 and has over 900,000 online learners. He is a leading authority and innovator in e-learning, he will be demonstrating and inviting debate on how Online Learning Management Systems can establish a perpetual appraisal process, enabling regular management of an employee's development targets through proactive, regular management reviews.
His presentation will cover the following specific areas:-
- How systems can warn of impending target dates and alert managers of overdue targets, creating powerful auto alert systems
- How systems allow you to set a desired competency level for each skill within a specific job role
- How employees can grade themselves against these competencies and managers can do likewise
- How training needs can be identified and "skills gaps" highlighted
- How systems can automatically allocate training
- How systems can establish personal development objectives, which can be monitored within specific timescales
Rod Knox spoke of his enthusiasm at being involved in Learning Technologies again this year, "I am delighted that, I have been given the opportunity to share my thoughts and tips on how an online Learning Management System, such as Virtual College's Enable system, can really help orgainisations deliver a regular standardised appraisal process"
