Alan Bellinger speaking on 'Establishing the Value of Training' at Training 2009
Alan Bellinger is research adviser to the Institute of IT Training and has been writing on skills issues for IT Training magazine for the last 20 years. He is Director of Certification for ISO 15504 Assessor Certification Program, and a Non-Executive Director of a number of emerging enterprises. With over 45 years IT experience, he believes he has demonstrable experience of applying agility in practice!
At the Training conference, Bellinger will be speaking on establishing the value of training. He explained "Now, more than ever, training has to prove its worth. But simple post-course questionnaires are no longer enough - if they ever were. Establishing the value of learning - and the department that provides it - requires something more. But while precise ROI calculations may be complex, it is usually enough to show a good estimate of a training programme's impact, and it needn't be that difficult."
Bellinger's topics will include:
* Why the Kirkpatrick model doesn't help
* 5 simple - but vital - questions to ask
* Understanding the key metrics to focus on
* Why delegate 'time to competency' is crucial
* Engaging confidently with management
