CLOs look for collaboration with the launch of a new nationwide network
CLO Connect, a new exclusive network for Chief Learning Officers from the FTSE 250, will launch nationally on Tuesday 10 September 2013.
The exclusive network, hosted by The Learning and Performance Institute (LPI), will provide a platform for Chief Learning Officers (CLOs) from the UK’s leading organisations to network, access customised research, hear from guest speakers and access the latest news relevant to their roles.
Former Head of People Development at the BBC, Nigel Paine will be chairing the network.
The CLO Connect launch event, which takes place in London next month (September) will be hosted by LPI Chairman Donald H Taylor. The event will give prospective members the chance to find out more about CLO Connect and contribute to the future direction of the network.
Edmund Monk, Managing Director of CLO Connect will oversee the growth of the network. As well as holding a senior position within the LPI, Edmund has extensive experience of the networking arena and already manages the highly successful Learning Directors Network, an exclusive network for commercial training providers.
Edmund believes the launch of network for CLO’s is long overdue.
"When we considered launching CLO Connect, over a year ago, we received nothing but positive feedback from the community. Holding the position of CLO within a large corporate organisation presents many challenges. It’s a high pressured role and despite being people orientated can often leave CLOs feeling very isolated.
"Through CLO Connect we want to bring CLO’s together to share their experiences, and together, help overcome some of their challenges. We’ll also invite guest speakers to our meetings and provide tailored research and reports designed to provide greater insight, which will lead to more informed decision making.” He said.
