Banco Santander achieves LPI Learning Department Accreditation for the first time
Spanish multinational bank and financial services organisation demonstrates commitment to excellence in its employee learning provision.
The Spanish multinational commercial bank and financial services company, Banco Santander, has been awarded Accredited Learning Department status for the first time by the Learning and Performance Institute (LPI). Based in Santander, Spain, with hubs in Madrid and Barcelona, and operations across continental Asia and the Americas, the company is the largest Spanish banking institution in the world.
The LPI accreditation is a globally-recognised independent endorsement of a learning department's value-add to the organisation, and to its ongoing commitment to business excellence, performance improvement and positive outcomes from its employee development and training services. The accreditation programme employs a highly robust framework, developed by leading L&D experts, and validated by decades' worth of data from thousands of organisations, to measure, benchmark and improve learning capabilities.
Daniel Coba-Crespo, Learning and Development Project Manager at Banco Santander said: "This accreditation from the LPI strengthens our value and capacity to provide efficient learning solutions to strategic business challenges quickly in a rapidly changing environment. It has provided us with the strategic vision of how our skills need to evolve and how we can align with available technology to offer the best solutions and the suitable knowledge to each person just in time."
The accreditation was carried out by Overlap, the Learning and Performance Institute's official Business Partner for the Iberian region. Overlap's assessors were impressed by Santander's approach to learning and development, its pursuit of excellence, and its willingness to adapt and innovate to maintain a high-quality learning experience for its employees.
"This accreditation demonstrates that the L&D team in Banco Santander truly understands its internal customers", said Arturo Reglero, Banking and Insurance Manager, Overlap.
"Their ability to analyse, diagnose and then provide the most effective learning solutions is a strong testament to their skills not just as L&D practitioners but as performance consultants, keenly attuned to the needs of the business. Well done to the Banco Santander team."
Commenting on the accreditation, Edmund Monk, CEO, LPI, said: "Achieving the Learning Department Accreditation proves that Banco Santander's internal learning provision is capable, competent, provides value and has a positive impact on the performance of the business and its employees. As a first-time accreditation, it also represents a positive step towards achieving future performance goals; building upon an already excellent foundation to deliver the highest standards of learning and development. I would like to congratulate the team at Banco Santander on its accreditation - a superb accomplishment."
Accreditation comes into effect immediately.
