26 Steps nominated for Kings Award for Voluntary Service

26 Steps, Malvern, UKLearning News

Royalties from 26 Steps toolkits fund BYOB, helping homeless young adults gain skills, confidence and qualifications to move into work and independence.

Malvern Business Academy (MBA) is delighted to have been nominated for a KAVS, an award celebrating the outstanding work of local volunteer groups across the UK. Since 2016, royalties from MBA's 26 Steps Leadership Toolkits have funded the Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) programme, supporting young homeless adults into employability and independence.

Over 60 young people have been given the opportunity to step forwards in life using BYOB, often finding long-term friendships and mentors along the way. Offering BTEC Workskills qualifications, Duke of Edinburgh Awards and the Peter Jones Enterprise Certificate, BYOB builds confidence and personal leadership skills for young people who have had a really tough start to life and often little formal education. Side-lined by family and society, these brave young adults just want a chance. 26 Steps provides finance to buy clothes, formal ID, laptops, phones and many other essentials to participate in mainstream life.

Each and every 26 Steps Toolkit licence enables a leader to add value to their business, and at the same time provides a life-line for a young person.
