Collaboration is key to doing ‘more for less’ in L&D

Learning practitioners will discover how collaborative working can help them do ‘more for less’ at the inaugural meeting of The Corporate eLearning Consortium on 28 March, London. Martin Baker, founder of the new Consortium, will explain how working together to share knowledge, resources and best practice can empower L&D in the corporate sector.

Collaboration was a key theme to emerge from the learning Technologies conference this year, and is set to be the L&D buzz word for 2012. Given the current economic climate, and the increased need to do 'more for less', it makes perfect sense to share knowledge and resources with your peers. This element of working together - sharing eLearning resources and best practice - is at the heart of the new Corporate eLearning Consortium, founded by Martin Baker.

Martin, MD of The Corporate eLearning Consortium, will be explaining his vision for the new membership organisation at its launch meeting on 28 March, London.

L&D practitioners interested in finding out how they can save valuable time and money, whilst networking with like minded individuals, are warmly invited to come along and can register their interest on The Corporate eLearning Consortium website.

The new Consortium offers members access to a cost effective eLearning suite of some 180 courses, provided by Jenison - which offers the largest range of off-the-shelf eLearning of any UK publisher. All the courses have UK audio - a popular feature with UK based learners.

But, as Martin Baker points out, the real strength of the Consortium lies in the collaboration of its members, being founded on the belief that 'together we are stronger than one organisation alone'.

"Our central ethos is 'by the members, for the members' so the future direction of the Consortium will be shaped by members' needs," he said.

Martin has previously founded and leads the highly successful Charity Learning Consortium, and is thrilled to be bringing this collaborative concept to the corporate world: "Our core eLearning suite provides an excellent, cost effective resource for organisations - of all sorts and sizes - to develop their staff. But coming together to network and share resources and best practice is, our members tell us, priceless."
